Why Are You More Expensive Than Other Newborn Photographers?
I know that when you’re comparing newborn photographers the pricing can vary quite significantly. You might see a photographer offering a deal on Facebook where the shoot and images cost less than £100. And you might find another photographer who’s starting package costs £1,000.
Having a baby is expensive, and I completely understand that you want to be sure that you’re making a good investment. So why does a newborn shoot with me cost more than with some other photographers?
The main reason why newborn photographer’s prices vary is that we’re all offering something different. So although you may spend more with me than with other photographers, you will be getting something completely different.
In this article I’ll explain how my service is different, and what you receive for your investment.

Natural, Baby-Led Photography
I specialise in natural, timeless posed newborn photography. You won’t find lots of props in my photographs. My focus is on capturing natural photographs of your baby and family that won’t go out of style.
My approach is completely baby led. I won’t place your baby in unsafe or unnatural positions, and I’ll follow their lead throughout the shoot – so if they’re not comfortable in a certain position we won’t do that pose, and will do something else instead. If they need to stop for a feed or a cuddle with you we’ll do just that.
Making sure that your baby is safe, comfortable and happy through the shoot is my number one priority, and so I don’t place a time limit on the shoot and won’t book any other shoots on the same day as yours.
Personalised Service
From the moment you get in touch to ask a question or book your shoot, you’ll be communicating directly with me. I’ll be on hand every step of the way to make sure you feel well prepared for the shoot, and have a great experience on the day of your shoot, at your viewing, and when your photographs are delivered.
It’s so important to me that every family I work with has the very best experience, and to make sure this happens I only work with a small number of clients each month.
I could of course work with more families each month and lower my prices, but I wouldn’t be able to give every family such a good experience. I don’t want you to feel that you were on a conveyor belt, weren’t prepared, that the shoot was rushed, or that you’re not sure what to do with the photographs afterwards. I prefer to spend more time with each family and make sure that you have a great experience. I’m delighted that many families come back to me year after year as a result.
Here’s what one of my clients said in a testimonial:
We Felt completely Looked After Right From The Start
“Nothing can prepare you for how fragile and emotional you feel post birth. Clare completely understood this and made us feel very looked after with her calm and caring approach right from the start. The photos we have of us as a new family with our son at 5 days old are irreplaceable and something we will treasure forever.”

High Quality Products
After your shoot you have the option to purchase digital files, but many families opt to also purchase wall art for their home, or gorgeous fine art albums.
The products I offer can’t be found on the high street. I’ve carefully sourced them from suppliers who are the best at what they do, and who are as passionate about each item being perfect as I am.
All of the prints, albums and other items you can purchase from me include fine art printing as standard. The frames include anti-reflective art glass as standard. The albums are hand made. And all of this means that with the right care they’ll last a lifetime. So you can not only enjoy them now, but hand them down to your children in the future too.
You can see all of the products available to order after a shoot with me here.

Why are your prices so cheap?
Although my prices are higher than some other newborn photographers, you could end up spending more than double what you spend with me with some larger studios.
There are two reasons why my prices are lower. First, my studio is within my home, so I don’t have a huge rent to cover in my business costs. It’s also just me working here, so I don’t have the payroll costs that other studios have.
Over to you
I hope that this article has helped to explain why my prices are more expensive than some other newborn photographers, and why they’re cheaper than others.
