Natural Baby Photography Near Weybridge in Surrey
Hello, and thank you for visiting my website! I’m Clare, a baby and family photographer based just down the road from Weybidge, close to Hampton Court.
I photograph families from across Surrey and specialise in natural, timeless baby photography. No props, no elaborate backgrounds and no babies in baskets.
I’m delighted to share one of my recent baby sessions with you today.
The first year with your baby is full of important milestones – from those early days when they are teeny tiny and brand new, to first smiles and first steps. Baby milestone sessions are designed to capture your baby at these special milestones and all of their gorgeous personality.
This baby boy was 7 months old when he came to the studio. He was at the wonderful stage when he could sit up and engage with the world, but wasn’t yet crawling. This is a great time for a photo shoot, because babies of this age typically love to engage with the people and world around them, but don’t get frustrated because they want to crawl away and explore.
My aim is always to capture all of the sides of your baby that you see each day – of course those big gummy smiles and giggles, but also the long soulful stare, and curious glances. As you can see this baby boy had some absolutely gorgeous expressions!

Most baby milestone sessions will also include some family photographs. Whilst your baby is always the star of the show, most families like to have a few family photographs to celebrate the moment too. I’ll also follow each baby’s lead as to when we take family photographs. Most babies will need a bit of time to warm up to their new surroundings, in which case we’ll start with family photographs so that they’re held by their parents. Other times babies are raring to go and we start with their solo portraits.
During a milestone session parents have a choice between bringing their own outfits for their baby to wear or choosing outfits from my studio wardrobe. In the wardrobe I have a selection of outfits for babies aged 3-13 months in soft, neutral colours.
This baby boy wore two outfits from the studio wardrobe – one with legs and one without, which brings nice variety to the photographs.
I usually recommend choosing no more than 3 outfits for the session; most babies will have a limited tolerance for being changed, photographed then changed and photographed over and over again!
