Hello there, and thank you for visiting my website! I’m Clare, an experienced newborn photographer in London specialising in timeless, natural portraits.

I’m based in South West London, close to Hampton Court and am passionate about photography that focuses on capturing your baby as they are – no props, babies in baskets or cheesy outfits here.

Recently, I had the pleasure of welcoming a family back to the studio with their second baby. I had photographed their eldest daughter a couple of years previously, and it was wonderful to see her as a happy, confident toddler bringing her new baby sister to the studio.

Timing is everything when it comes to newborn photography

This baby girl was twelve days new when she came to the studio. This was the perfect timing for a newborn photo shoot.

Timing is everything when it comes to newborn photography. Typically, the sweet spot for capturing these precious, curled-up poses is between 5 and 14 days after birth. During this brief window, babies are very sleepy, and love to tuck their legs in and curl up into positions similar to the ones they were in inside the womb.

Because sessions happen when babies are so young, planning ahead is key, and this baby girl’s session was booked in before she was born.

If you’re thinking about a newborn session, I recommend securing your slot before your due date to guarantee I’ll have space once your bundle of joy arrives. And don’t worry if your baby decides to make their debut a little earlier or later than expected; I only book a small number of sessions each month to make sure that I can accommodate pre-booked families whether baby arrives earlier than, later than or right on their due date.

Capturing newborn, family and sibling portraits at my South West London studio

As a mum of two, I know that welcoming a new baby is a special time for everyone in the family, so my newborn sessions aren’t just about capturing solo photographs of your newborn; it’s about celebrating your growing family, and these family portraits serve as a timeless reminder of the love and joy that surrounds this special time.

Before diving into individual portraits, we took the time to capture this special milestone for the whole family. As well as taking photographs of the whole family together, and parents with their daughters, it was important to capture the two sisters together.

Didn’t they do brilliantly at their first portrait together!

And of course, we can’t forget about those tiny details that make your baby uniquely beautiful. From their dainty fingers to their button noses, I take great care in capturing these intricate features that you’ll love looking back on as your baby grows.
