South London Family Photography
Last month I spent a sunny Saturday morning photographing this lovely family. I’m delighted to be able to share some of my favourite pictures from their South London family photography session with you today.
I was so pleased that this family booked this photo shoot. I had photographed their son once before when he was a baby, and it was an absolute delight to be able to see him all grown up as a happy, chatty two year old!
An Outdoor Family Photo Shoot in London
We had a beautiful, sunny morning for their session and a beautiful location that ticked all the boxes – long grasses, pretty flowers and sunshine breaking through the trees.
We started the session with some pictures of the whole family. I find this to be a good way to help everyone to get used to being photographed, and relax into the session.
Once everyone had warmed up a little, we moved on to capture each of the parents individually with their son, and of course their gorgeous boy on his own.
Capturing Natural, Relaxed Family Photographs
I know that feeling awkward in front of the camera is one of the things that many parents worry about. And it can put some families off booking a photo shoot completely.
My goal for every session is to keep everything relaxed and easy, so that you can actually enjoy the session experience and enjoy the time with your family. I give all of the families lots of guidance so that you don’t ever need to worry about where to sit or stand or what to do.
In this session, we finished up with some photographs of the whole family sitting down together, and a lovely portrait of them all walking through the field (after all two year olds can’t sit still for long!)
