What Is A Family Mini Session?

- Mini sessions are short and sweet family photo shoots for up to six people from one family.
- The sessions take place on selected dates each year. On a mini session day I’ll photograph 4 or 5 families at pre-booked times.
- Each family’s session lasts 20 minutes, and gives us plenty of time to capture some gorgeous family photographs.
- Locations vary from gorgeous parks and woodland areas, to Surrey’s stunning lavender fields.
- Mini Sessions make it easy for you to update your family photographs without a huge investment of time or money; perfect for families who would like a few new photographs to frame or give as gifts, and those who like regular photo shoots to document their children as they grow.

What To Expect From Your Family Mini Session Experience

Before Your Family Mini Session
Before your session I’ll ask you to complete a questionnaire so that I can find out all about your family and tailor the shoot to you.
You’ll also receive emails from me, packed with tips to help you feel prepared, including a guide to choosing your family’s outfits.
What Happens On A Mini Session Day?
During the session I’ll guide you to different spots and through different photographs so that we capture a good variety of different images.
I’ll give you lots of guidance about where to sit, stand or look and what to do so you don’t have to worry about feeling awkward or your children pulling big cheesy grins!
Once we’ve finished the photographs you can relax! Lots of families choose to make a day of it and stay in the local area to have coffee, lunch or a walk.

How Do We See The Photographs From Our Mini Session?

Two weeks after your mini session I’ll send you a link to a private online gallery where you can view the fully edited final images and choose which photographs you’d like to include in your package.
The gallery will be live for 7 days whilst you choose which photographs you’d like to have as prints. I’ll be on the end of the phone if you would like any help choosing your photographs or deciding how to display your new prints.
This is when you pay for the balance of your package. Once payment is received your digital images will be delivered within 24 hours and printed items will follow 4-6 weeks later.

When you book your mini session you will see that there is a backup date that we will reschedule your session to if the weather is so bad that we can’t go ahead. This is usually the day after your booked date.
In the run up to your mini session I’ll keep a close eye on the weather forecast, and I expect you might too! Regardless of what the forecast says, I won’t make any decisions until the evening before your shoot. The reason for this is that I find the forecast can change frequently over the course of a week, and a day that is forecast to be rainy in a week’s time, can often be forecast to be a lovely dry, sunny day once we reach the day before.
I add new mini session dates a couple of times a year.

Once you have paid for the session I can send you a lovely gift voucher to give to the recipient on the big day. In the run up to your mini session I’ll share lots of information to help you prepare – including some tips on what to wear.

I take your privacy very seriously, and will only publish pictures from your shoot in my online portfolios with your permission. If you do give permission the pictures are always shared anonymously (I would never share your or your children’s names.)
I will ask you about this when you book your session, and if you don’t want me to share the pictures from your session you can let me know then.
Meet Your Photographer

As you’re thinking about booking a mini session with me, you might like to know a little bit more about who will be photographing you…
I’ve been photographing families for the last 9 years and am based close to Hampton Court, on the Surrey / London border.
I’m known for natural, relaxed photography without any cheesy props or awkward posing.
Over the years I’ve photographed hundreds of families and know just how to get the best from little people in a short amount of time.
I’m also a mum of two so I know just how how busy family life can be, and keep the process of having a photo shoot as easy and simple as possible for you.
