NATURAL MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY IN LONDON

Natural Pregnancy Portraits In London

black and white studio maternity photography in london

The nine months of pregnancy can fly by, and amongst the wonder, excitement and anticipation, there can also be worries, uncertainty and times of not feeling entirely comfortable in your ‘new body.’

My maternity sessions are designed to help you feel relaxed, confident and at ease in your pregnant body – and to capture your pregnancy in the way you want to remember it.

As one of my clients put it “it doesn’t look how it feels” because during her session we captured the beauty and positivity she wanted to remember, and none of the discomfort and worries that she wanted to forget.

My style is natural and timeless – no cheesy posing or unnatural outfits. And my sessions are relaxed with lots of hand holding and guidance so you never have to feel awkward or worried that you’re posing badly.

Sounds good? Keep scrolling to find out more about how we can work together.

What To Expect From Your Maternity Photography Experience

Booking Your Maternity Photo Shoot

The best time to take maternity photographs is usually between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy.

This is the most flattering time, as your bump is usually nice and round by then, giving you a beautiful profile, with plenty of definition.

I recommend booking your shoot as soon as possible after your 12 or 20 week scan to make sure we can capture this window.

When you book you can choose between a session at my studio, or an outdoor session in Surrey or London.

Preparing For A Relaxed Pregnancy Photography Session

When you book your shoot I’ll share lots of practical tips to help you prepare, including what to wear, style mood boards and ideas about what to bring.

I can also help you to arrange a wonderful hair and makeup artist to come to your home beforehand to do your hair and makeup, if you wish.

A few days before the session I’ll get in touch to run through all of the final details, and make sure you feel prepared for a relaxed, enjoyable session.

What Happens On The Day Of Your Maternity Photo Shoot?

The day of your session has arrived!

Depending on which package you’ve chosen, we’ll spend somewhere between 30 and 90 minutes together, capturing a lovely variety of portraits.

As we move through the session I’ll give you plenty of guidance on what to do, so you don’t need to worry about feeling awkward or how to pose.

And if you’re bringing your older children along, I’ll have some games up my sleeve to keep them entertained.

Viewing Your Maternity Portraits

A week or two after your session you can view the fully edited photographs from your session online, from the comfort of your home, and choose which images to include in your package.

Digital images are delivered to you within 48 hours of your order being received and printed items are delivered 4-6 weeks later.

Choosing a Location For Your Pregnancy Photo Shoot

When you book your session you can opt for a session at my studio or one outdoors, depending on which package you choose.

My photography studio is close to Hampton Court Palace on the London / Surrey border. Most families choose to drive, and there’s plenty of free parking outside. It’s also walking distance from Hampton Court train station, which is served by direct trains from Waterloo, Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Wimbledon and Surbiton.

I offer outdoor sessions across Central and South West London and all of Surrey. When you book we can chat about the best location for your session, depending on where you’re based and the style of photographs you would like.

Meet Your Photographer

As you’re thinking about booking a session with me, you might want to know a little more about who I am.

As well as being a photographer I’m also a mum of two girls, and live on the Surrey / London border with my husband and daughters.

As a mum I know all too well what a rollercoaster of feelings pregnancy can be, and I also understand that desire to capture it – perhaps not for anyone else to see – but for ourselves. So that we can remember the amazing, powerful ways that our body changed to nurture and grow the most precious little person in our life.

I know that stepping in front of the camera can be nerve wracking, and I care passionately about making sure that you have a relaxed, positive and enjoyable experience as well as beautiful photographs.

Now that you know more about me, I’d love to learn more about your growing family and start planning your session. Click on the button below to get in touch.

No. My style of photography is very natural, and I don’t use props. I prefer the focus of the photographs to be on you and your beautiful bump, rather than lots of props or novelty sets.

I take your privacy very seriously, and will only publish your pictures in my online portfolios with your permission. If you do give permission the pictures are always shared anonymously (I would never share your or your family members’ names.)
