Leatherhead Newborn Photography | Natural Baby Portraits
Hello and welcome! I’m Clare, a long serving newborn, baby, and family photographer located in East Molesey, which is a short drive from Leatherhead.
Earlier this year, I had the joy of photographing this adorable newborn boy at my studio.
At just 7 days old, he was the perfect age for a newborn photo shoot.
The ideal time for these sessions is between 5 and 14 days old; during these early days, babies are very sleepy and love to curl up as they did in the womb, making it the best time to capture your baby as they were when they were born.
Since newborn sessions happen so early in a baby’s life, it’s best to book before your baby is born. I note your due date at the time of booking, and once your little one arrives, we confirm the session date to ensure it’s within that ideal 14-day window.

Capturing Family Moments
This baby boy was joined by his big brother, and of course his parents! We started with family portraits, capturing the love and connection they all feel for their new baby.
Baby-Led Newborn Photography in Surrey
After we had taken family portraits, I spent the rest of the time focusing on this gorgeous baby boy.
My approach to newborn photography is very natural – making the focus of your photographs your baby and family. I don’t use any props or themed backdrops in my sessions.
I also take a baby led approach – allowing plenty of time time for feeding, changing breaks and cuddles with you whilst capturing a variety of portraits and details.

Capturing the Little Details
Whilst I was photographing baby on his own, I also spent time capturing all the little details that make him him – his tiny fingers and toes, and the delicate features of his face.
I always include these detail shots in every session, and the images are always some of my most requested – these tiny little details often remain recognisable as the child grows, and it’s lovely to look back and see how they were there from the very beginning!
