A Central London Family Photo Shoot
As I write this, we’re in the middle of a heatwave and trying to walk the fine balance between enjoying the sunshine and staying cool. The beautiful sunshine has taken my mind back to this lovely Central London family photo shoot from last year.
I had photographed this family a couple of years earlier, in a favourite park close to home. So it was wonderful to hear from them again and plan a second photo shoot – this time to mark the end of their time in London before they moved away.
We started the session bright and early on a Sunday morning, meeting close to the London Eye, and then set off on a walk across Westminister Bridge. Stopping of course for a photograph in front of the Houses of Parliament.
As you can see from the photographs, it was a bright, sunny day with no clouds in the sky. In these conditions it’s best to shoot at the beginning or end of the day as the light tends to be softer and more flattering at these times. Starting early also meant that the streets weren’t too busy, and that we could stay cool by avoiding the hottest part of the day!
From Parliament Square we made our way up to St James’s Park and Buckingham Palace. St James’s Park is such a beautiful spot for photographs – and home to some Pelicans, which is just amazing to see in the middle of the city!
From there we strolled down The Mall and into Mayfair for a few final photographs. Finishing mid-morning before the temperatures got too high.
I absolutely loved this family photo shoot in Central London, and hope you have enjoyed seeing some of my favourite photographs from it too.
