How Do I Decide What To Order After A Newborn Shoot? How do I decide what to order after newborn shoot?

One of the most common questions I’m asked before a client books a newborn photo shoot with me is “Do I need to decide what to order now?” The short answer is most definitely not. I don’t expect any of my clients to choose what they will buy until they’ve seen the photographs after the shoot.

In this blog post I’ll explain what happens before and after your shoot, and when you decide what to order.

What happens before my shoot?

When you book your newborn shoot, paying your session fee and signing a contract secures the date. A newborn session with me costs £100 on weekdays and £150 on weekends.

This fee covers your pre-session consultation, the photo shoot itself, professional editing of your photographs, and your viewing appointment. The session fee doesn’t include any digital images, prints or products. These are purchased afterwards at your viewing appointment.

How do I see the photographs from the shoot?

After your shoot we’ll arrange a convenient time to for you to view your photographs. Viewings usually take place at my studio and last no more than one hour.

I’ll usually start by showing you a short slideshow of your fully-edited photographs. You can expect there to be 20 photographs in total. I’ll also have some printed proofs so that you can compare all of the photographs side by side.

The viewing appointment is designed to be a relaxed and enjoyable experience. I’ll be on hand to offer as little or as much support with your decision as you would like. I can suggest which photographs would work well together, or create example layouts for you to compare.

Will I be put under pressure to spend a fortune?

Definitely not! That’s just not my style. I believe in honest, transparent pricing and all of the packages and prices are available for you to see on my website before you book your shoot. You can see all of the packages and prices here.

I love all of the products that I offer – I wouldn’t list them otherwise and only want you to purchase what is right for you. Whether that’s an album to tell the story of your session, a set of frames to hang on your walls, or digital images to print and share yourself. The right choice for each family will be unique to them.

Can I see the packages and prices before I book the session?

Absolutely. I want you to be fully informed before you book a shoot with me. You can see all of the packages and prices here.

Can I see the products in person?

Yes you can. I have samples of all of the products, and you’ll be able to see them at your shoot and at your viewing.  If you’d like to see them before you decide whether to book please do get in touch to make an appointment.

How much should I budget to spend?

To give you a guide most of my clients spend between £600-£2,000 in total, including their session fees. What you spend is entirely up to you, and there definitely won’t be anyone pushing you to buy one thing or another. I do recommend making sure that you’re familiar with all the prices before booking so that you don’t find that the things you want are out of budget afterwards.

I want to order more but my budget doesn’t cover everything I want. Can I order some more products at a later date?

Absolutely. When you book your session, the product prices will be valid until 28 days after your session. You can still order additional items after this time, and I’ll send you the latest product and price list at this point so that you can choose your items.
